The Morning After...

Postinor, or more known as 'The Morning After Pill' comes in a box of two small tablets, to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy.

It has been recently scheduled from S4 to S3, meaning it is now available without prescription and can be sold by the pharmacist. I know in Malaysia, we can buy it just like that in a box of tens. That was many years ago when I was a medical rep, I don't know how it is sold there now.

If my boss decides to sell this item, I think he won't be groaning at his end of day figures. Not that the business is bad, but being a boss, profits are never enough, right? But being a Catholic, he has his reasons not wanting to stock this item in his pharmacy.

When I first started working there, I was told to say the item is out of stock. I did that, but then I thought, what if the same person comes in the next day or the next time, and we are still out of stock? So I told them we don't stock it. Throughout the year, I have copped a few unhappy customers, saying they were not given the freedom of choice, blablabla.

Ladies, gals, whatever, if you succumbed to a moment of lust, and I would many would be one night stands, otherwise she would have been on the pills or him using condoms in a long-term relationship. Anyway, yeah, if you succumbed to a moment of lust, do not coming raising your voices at us just because you decide at the 70th hour at 11pm at night, not being able to get the pills.

And some mums, have you no shame? Complaining to us that the pills are so expensive (about $20 odd for 2 pills) and it should be funded by the government, while your underaged daughter and her boyfriend are all kissy-pissy standing behind you. Really, it pisses me off and makes my blood boil to witness such dumb and ignorant mothers. Don't go ranting at us when it's your daughter who's obviously in a hurry to pull down her pants! Hello! What are you thinking?!

Those pills are not to be abused. Just because it's available over the counter now doesn't mean everyone can come barging in demanding for it. I have personally served a few who REALLY looks under-aged. I mean, not that we have the item, we get girls coming in everynight asking for it. Makes you wonder what the percentage of unprotected sex or one-night-stands is.

Okay, this is case to case basis. Am only pointing out what I've seen so far. Bottomline is, they shouldn't be treating it like sweets. The pills are really damaging to the body.

Anyway, now am back to saying 'Sorry we don't have the stock at the moment....' Save my trouble explaining and being spat at.
