Lake Mountain at last

7.00am - Dragged myself out of bed. Could here Aidan singing in his room.

Packed enough clothes to last for two days. And a big bag of snacks.

8.20am - After much dallying, we started our journey. Drizzling.

10.20am - or so. Reached the bottom of Lake Mountain, which is Marysville. Dropped by Visitor's centre and viewed live cam, snow is fair. Hired a Kid's package which consist of a PVC overall, boots and a large Toboggan at $20 for Aidan. Two pair of PVC pants for Wilkin and myself ($16) and a pair of boots for me ($10). They reckoned Wilkin's Cat will survive the snow.

11.00am - Reached Lake Mountain. $30 entrance fee for a car. Weather : about 3 degree Celsius. Aidan refused to wear overall and got Wilkin short-fused. We had to force him to wear it, and he cried pitifully. Distracted him with the first sight of snow, and he forgot what he was crying about.

The winter gears are troublesome. I can hardly move. Probably I should have worn a jacket size parka instead of this long one. But it served its purpose, this one is waterproof. I did some tobogganing and it was fun. Bless the PVC pants, they were all wet, but we were dry. Funny how it wasn't THAT cold, not because we were walking around.

Two hours straight of tobogganing and snow-throwing, apart from 15 minutes break for fish and chips with nowhere to seat, we had enough. It was raining heavily then, but no one seemed to mind. Aidan didn't want to leave. He fell in love with the red toboggan, and refused to let it go.

Somehow we managed to persuade him to, and fell asleep soon after in the car. He didn't see Wilkin returning the rentals, so when we got home, he immediately asked for the toboggan again. We told him we don't have it anymore. Didn't believe us, wanted us to open up the boot for him to see. Smart rascal.

Later in the evening we went to DIL's house for dinner. Upon getting into the car, Aidan said 'Want snow, want toboggan'.... Hahahah! I said 'No bubby, we can go again some other time.'

I guess that will have to be next year.

Typo error : Received an email asking if my hubby was driving that fast :P It should have been 100kph, WITHIN THE SPEED LIMIT! :P

haha.. as it is, it's currently 5 degree as i am typing. it is cold, but at least i don't get headaches and migraines as often as in the summer, which i really hate when it's 30 degrees and above.

unlike malaysia, the weather here is hot and dry, plus the hot wind that blows can really make u feel like you're in the oven.

Glad there was some sliding left on that mountain. I know you planned this for some time. My missus talked about going skiing again. hehe

SA - yep. aidan is asking for snow again, as if it's only 1/2 hour drive :P it will be great if he is older and we can take ski lessons together :)

looks like mrs.SA is doing some planning too :)
