Make a puddle, Stomp! Stomp! Stomp!

And that was exactly what this mini-me did.

I was in the house, and Wilkin yelled to me from the backyard 'You come take a look at your son!'

And I was like, Amboi! Must be something not quite right, because whenever Aidan is MY SON hor, he must be up to mischief. He poured water into the hole which he dug last week, and stomped and danced in it with glee. Look at his hands! Here he was trying to take off his boots when I told him sternly that he had to go wash his hands. See that not-so-happy face?

We didn't do anything much in the weekend, except went to Ching's place for dinner and lepak. On Saturday afternoon, there was a fair at Mount Waverely Primary School, and I bought Aidan a helium balloon. He chose his favourite green. Then he saw an orange balloon escaped and flew high, high, high into the sky.

Back home, he wanted to do the same, not knowing the consequence of it. I told him he couldn't let go of the balloon, because it will fly away and it will be gone. Not sure if he totally understood me, but he brought it back into the house. Today, the helium lost its effect, and it wasn't floating anymore. I think Aidan remembered the 'orange balloon case' but not my advice, he brought it outside again. Thinking that it couldn't fly away, I let him be.

He came in, pouting, red eyes, softly whispering 'Gooween balloon'. (Green balloon)

Oh dear. It flew off alright, with the wind. He was visibly upset and we had to spend much time talking to him. Sticking to me like glue, he bawled when I took my shower, not wanting me to go to work. Lucky thing I have emergency supplies. Not a helium balloon of course, but some extra party packs which includes some poppers and whistles.

Now that he knows the cause and effect, perhaps next time he will think twice before letting go of a balloon, helium or otherwise.

Here too whenever there's a fair, we'll see a few balloons floating up into the sky, some kids lose them.

I think all of our kids have a green balloon now and again. At least you had something on hand to sooth the pain.
