What a night at work!

Our store is one of the corner lots at a very busy cross junction in the city.

Every now and then, I will hear screeches that makes me shut my eyes tightly, screw up my face, and wait. Usually nothing happens, thank goodness, but there was once where there was an accident that involved three cars, each landed on three different intersections. Amazingly, no one was seriously injured.

Tonight, no screech. Just BANG!!!

Apparently this silver car that was going straight didn't see the black car infront slowing down. The driver of the black car wanted to turn right, and was waiting for the cars from the opposite direction to stop at the next red light. Silver sent Black spinning to the right and hit another car, while Silver hit the corner opposite our store, few metres short of crashing into the Honda showroom.

But this is not the point I am blogging about it. Tonight, we witnessed the whole new side of the law enforcers and paramedics. The police were there to direct the traffic, but this officer was just shouting away. He shouted at someone who wanted to hop into the taxi a little further up the road, saying this guy is obstructing the traffic flow. Another swore while directing, and another chewing on a gum while talking to witnesses.

At the same time, a drunkard sat right in front of our emergency door and nursed his bloody wound on his head. Nothing to do with the accident. Lucky thing the paramedics were there! Then, we saw a paramedic smoking away.

What is this?!

I know the police may be under a lot of pressure, but no excuse for shouting profanities, and chewing on a gum?! Are paramedics even allowed to smoke when they are on duty?!

I... I.... I.... donno what to say. Am speechless.

What a night indeed!

How can a paramedic smoke and work. Such a nasty habit to add to medical treatment. Please don't touch me until you sanitize yourself.

So cops have an attitude there too.
