Trip to Malaysia 2007 - Penang Pics and Bukit Tambun
Nothing on Genting Highlands as not many pics were taken there. I had a bad headache too that day and not looking too good too, hah!
We drove off to Penang after brekky at Ipoh Garden South. Upon reaching there we stopped at Queensbay Mall to stock up some drinks and snacks, and checked in at Mar Vista apartments in Batu Ferringhi. Aidan was all the way from Ipoh repeating 'Mama, I want swimming' so I had to give my, and all the others in the car, our poor ears a good break!
Okay, to sum up our Penang trip, was that after a refreshing swim and shower, we headed to Gurney Drive to eat, and bought some local biscuits around that area. Then to Gurney Plaza for jalan-jalan, where I managed to buy a Winnie the Pooh set of PJs from World of Toons, which is equivalent to about AUD10, and that is cheap.
Had a coffee break at Coffee Beans, met up with a Penang friend, who gave me a HUGE SURPRISE with her five months old belly!! She didn't tell anyone, but thanks to me, I became her redifusion and broadcasted to all our friends, with her consent of course.
After dinner, we took a walk along, where else, Batu Ferringhi for some DVDs :) Got a couple of Donny Yan's movie, Hairspray, Josh Groban, Kitaro, Michael Buble, Il Divo. My trip is complete! Of course not! Next day we went to Kek Lok Si temple. Believe it or not, this was my first time there, and no, we did not walk all the way up, we did not walk half way up. We drove right to the front of the place.
Aidan surprised us with doing his own 'cheng cheng' as a sign of respect all the way. My friend and her husband said he must have 'yuen' (is that 'fate' or 'connection'?) with God. I do certainly hope he will grow up setting foot on the right path with confidence, faith and courage. After some photo shoots under the hot sun (hence not seeing any pics here due to lots of squinting) we went back to the apartment to freshen up and check out.
Next stop, Bukit Tambun. The 'chi lor', crabs, 'tarn' and 'tiger fish' with some noodles, drinks and beer made us all very happy. Didn't get to eat the 'lai liu' prawns, though. There was only ONE left!
Great hammer, eh?
Roarr! Tiger fish ended up on the hot plate. RM6 each.
Dad-in-law asked how much was the lunch, after losing out on wanting to pay, and,
I said : RM140
He said : IMPOSSIBLE!
I said : Then how much do you think it is?
He said : About RM400...
I said : RM400 we can eat in a better environment with more food!
He was ..... kinda shocked.
