Toilet Etiquette

It just occured to me when I was in the public toilet today.

This automatic flusher almost malfunctioned on me, and really, I wouldn't know what to do if it really did, with a stream of people lining outside. I am always reluctant to do a big business once I am out from the comfort of my own toilet. Don't get me wrong, public toilets here are almost clean as anything, and F.O.C.! Even the one that has an automatic door at a large car park area at Glen Waverley. And yes, they are clean.

So, I was at The Glen, and needed to have a big go. Went into one of the cubicles, done it......... AND IT WON'T FLUSH! The dang thing didn't want to flush! I put my hand in front of the sensor and it blinked for a while, no flush still. I said to myself, sei ler, how then? Go out and tell the next person that she can't use it? GOSH! So embarassing. I had to try again. This time I put my hand in front of the sensor for about 30 seconds, and phew! Down went the gold.

Which brings me to my second incident which happened a couple of weeks ago at work.

Ladies' toilet is just next to a main street. Basically our loo is only separated by the brick wall, and outside is a bus stop. I needed to wee, and went to the loo. There is a small window for ventilation and I could hear a girl and two guys talking outside. The street was quiet, as I guessed the traffic light must be red. I sat there waiting........ waiting....... waiting.......

I was thinking to myself, can they hear me? What if I wee-ed and then I hear them laughing or make a remark? Not that they could see me or knew who I was, still, I couldn't bring myself to do it! Then at last, the cars and buses started zooming by, and I pushed on my bladder and pelvic floor as fast as I could before the next traffic stop.

What would you have done?

i know! that's the worst! THEN only we will realize how precious water is! lucky thing we have a habit now to store rain water since the water restrictions, so in case if that happens, no sweat :)

There should be a little black button near the sensor, it is like a manual override. BTW This is Click and Comment Monday.
