Bribery

Aidan needs a haircut.

I tried to talk him into it, but he cried. As soon as he saw the shop, he cried. So I booked for a later time, and we went home. I tried to bribe him. I told him if he cut his hair, I will get him some Thomas Tank stuff. (In fact I have already bought it earlier this morning at Myers, on sale lar) Initially he said no.

After repeating myself a few times, he said yes. And he wanted ME to cut his hair, right then. I said no, I won't be cutting his hair, but another lady will. He started crying again, saying he didn't want the lady to cut his hair. He wanted me! So, I had to cancel the appointment, and warned him, not that he knew, that he was boung for a dreadful haircut. Kakakakakakaa!

See, our friend, happy. Only because he had a reward coming up.

NO PLACE TO WALK! (Mou day wai)

Two tracks, and doesn't allow anyone to pack up one or the other.

THe bribe? New bridge.

I bring my kids to the hairdressers all the time! even when they are not getting a hair cut. They become friends with the hairdresser eventually, and now, even when their hair is not long, they ask to go!! Give that a try, maybe Aidan wont fuss the next time he needs a cut!

My 4 year old hates having his hair cut too. It is always so drama bringing him to the hairdresser....so I ended up being his barber. Even so, he cries as each clump of hair falls down and the constant whinning and squirmming. MUNTAH DARAH.

SAHM - unfortunately, prices of going to the hairdresser here is not feasible compared to malaysia, where i can go anytime to just relax and get a massage! hence i only go when necessary, and usually not a good idea to bring a child along, he might get bored. so, hehe, if he wants to, he can deal with the bad haircut frm me!

Anon - aidan was the same, i gave him a chuppa chup (lollypop) and he was all ok, eventhough there were strands of hair on it! having said that, they have their mood, once he cried even with the lolly. try 'preparing' him for the cut and ask him wat he likes to have after that, and give it to him as a treat. perhaps an ice cream or something like that.
