Scrap him from my Facebook?

I once went out with a guy who was so focused on climbing the corporate ladder that we walked our separate ways before anything serious happened. I couldn't imagine myself living a shadow and as his second best interest.

Fast forward to this year he is still jet-setting and single. Recently he commented that motherhood is keeping me occupied and the only exciting things I do, which he noticed in Facebook, is that we cook up some storms and have makan sessions. 'So aunty la', and that this is what he hears from a middle-aged lady, mother of ONLY one child. He even asked me to wake up, live life, I am in Australia and there are heaps of things to do here where he could only dream of.

So what does he actually expect from his partner? To be independent for sure, for he is seldom around, extremely active yet to be able to juggle between motherhood and living a bountiful life of adventures? I am, naturally offended by the words he said. How much does he know about the life I live, what we are going through and dictate how I should live?

I chose to 'retire' from the clubbing scenes, I chose to totally embrace motherhood and I chose to live a simple life. What does he know about commitment to a relationship? What does he know about loving a child? Just because he lives the life he is living doesn't mean other lives are boring. I shouldn't be the least bothered about what he said, but I cannot get past the fact that his thoughts are full of self-importance.

Hence I am now all the more chuffed. I have made the right decision.

I really hate it when people like this talk down to other people as if they are the only one 'living it up'. Everyone can choose how to live their life, and no one has the right to judge others for that. Probably he is the one who should live a little more other than spying on your life?

glad we all agree here. he isn't bad, but he just doesn't realize what he missed out in life, or perhaps he is thinking the same way we do! in any case, i can't imagine being his partner now, for sure most days will be spent at home alone.

Let him know that your job as a mother is very challenging and rewarding. Your time and energy invested in Aaidan is hopefully to ensure he doesn't grow up to be a shallow, judgemental, and someone with a Peter Pan syndrome ( doesn't want to grow up)
