Last Day of Term One

Last day of school started on a sweet note. It was a free dress day so all students went to school wearing their favourite outfits, expect for a few preppies, where their parents failed to read the weekly newsletter. Most kids were fine, but I did notice a girl when she got to the line, she was just staring at the other kids, clueless to why her friends were wearing something different.

It was also the day of drawing the raffle tickets for Easter baskets. I contributed a couple of gifts, plus bought a few tickets, all for the sake of charity. So when I went to pick Aidan up from school, I was surprised to find this basket propped up on his seat when I peeked into the class.

Aidan was very excited when he brought the basket out. The teacher told me he was more interested in the duck than the chocolates. A good sign, no? I mean, not so much sweet stuff for him. When we opened up the wrapper at home, he went straight for the ducky, but to his disappointment, it wasn't those soft toys, but a microwaveable beddy buddy, where it is stuffed with wheat to be used as a heat or cold pack, and infused with lavender. It was MY turn to be secretly pleased. I get a new wheat pack. Yeay! I asked him if he wanted ducky to sleep with him now, or if I could have ducky, and he said ducky can sleep in my bed. Hah!

As for the chocolates, I am glad he didn't gobble up everything at one go. We still have lots to go on till Easter. Am so proud of him.

Meantime, have a great holiday for those in Melbourne, and a lovely Easter.
